(PV-Tech) According to the Annual Energy Report released by the Singapore solar mounting systems Market Regulatory Authority (EMA), the Singapore market has completed a total of 129.8MW of installed solar photovoltaic systems by the end of the first quarter of 2017, up from 33.1MW at the end of 2014 Installation volume increased fourfold.
The EMA said that the substantial growth in the PV system was mainly driven by 995 new installations in the first quarter of 2016 and in the first quarter of this year. As of the end of Q1 2017, Singapore has a total of 1898 solar PV installations.
In the meantime, private-sector, non-residential solar systems account for nearly half of the total installed capacity.
Float solar also pioneered the Singapore market, led by the Singapore ground mounting systems Research Institute (SERIS).
PV-Tech had previously reported that Shell, the mainstream oil company, invested in Sunseap, a Singapore-based solar mounting structure developer.
